How do you end up leaving National Education to open a teaching practice?
I felt like I couldn't help struggling students. After 22 years of teaching mathematics in middle and high schools in Morbihan, I felt that I had finished my work in national education. The school system in which I had invested a lot no longer met my values, especially with the large number of classes and long working hours. There should be a big reform, to make everything right.
When you were in front of the lectures, did you test new methods?
Mathematics is a subject that causes anxiety among students. They are under great social and sometimes family pressure. They believe that this is a subject in which they must be successful. They come with a lump in their stomach. In 2016, I completed training recognized by the National Education Institute for the introduction of yoga at the beginning of classes. Start classes more calmly and reduce stress before homework.

What is a teacher for?
The teacher does not give private lessons. I don't teach math. My role is to help, individually, the child or adult I support to find a method of working that suits them in order to learn and remember better. Through fun activities, I help the student to understand what is going on in his head while studying. I draw on the hobbies in which they flourish and their successes to discover methods that I can transfer to my school work. Teacher is a profession that appears in France, but which has existed for a long time in Belgium and Canada.
Is there any special training?
I trained during the school holidays in July 2020. I received a certificate issued by the Fabrique à Bonheur association. In 2021, I went part-time and opened a teaching practice in Locminé. I resigned from National Education this summer to settle full-time at Auray in January.

What are the profiles of the people you support?
Children from 7 to 8 years old. Students, adults in training. I support them, for example, when they work hard and do not achieve results. In class, teachers suggest work methods and give good advice, but they still have to meet everyone's needs. It works, of course, only if the young person agrees.
How much does a session cost?
The session lasts from three quarters of an hour to an hour. Its price is €60. This is an appointment approximately every two weeks. Support stops when the child finds his way of working and his autonomy.
